Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in diced onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Combine the Pasta and Broth: Add elbow macaroni, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to low. Cover and simmer for 8–10 minutes, until pasta is al dente and liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Add the Cheese: Turn off heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with chopped parsley or green onions if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best meltability. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk or broth. Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicier kick.
